FACT Women Empowerment Network (FWEN), a women-led branch of Forum for AIDS Counselling and Training-FACT is pleased to announce the commencing of a new rapid response project, titled ‘Tiwunikileni’ (Enlighten Us). The aim of this project is to reach out and offer psycho-social support to girls and young women who are victims, survivors or at risk of Gender Based Violence (GBV) amidst the COVID19 pandemic. The project will run until 31st September, 2020.

Following this, we would like to call upon girls and young women aged 18-24 to apply for volunteer positions;

Number of volunteers needed: 10

Location: Blantyre Reports to: Field Officer

Responsibilities and duties:

• Facilitate workshops on GBV and psycho-social support

• Offer psycho-social support to clients

• Link clients to further support where needed

• Produce activity reports

Desirable qualifications, experience and skills:

• A Diploma in Community work or related field, those with degrees may be considered

• Possess good communication skills in both English and Chichewa

• Have knowledge of Gender Based Violence (GBV), mental health and counselling

• Ability to work well under minimum supervision

• Be willing to learn and participate fully during orientation, trainings and work as required

• Be willing to volunteer 4 days a week from morning to midday

• Maintain a smooth working relationship with all FACT staff members

• Be a good team player
