Profile:

Pemphero Mphande, born in 1992, is a dedicated and accomplished medical laboratory scientist and HIV Prevention Programs Specialist from Malawi. He is the founder and Executive Director of the Forum for AIDS Counselling and Training (FACT Malawi). With a strong educational background, he is a proud graduate of the College of Medicine at the University of Malawi (UNIMA).


Professional Experience:

With over a decade of experience in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Pemphero has specialized in HIV prevention programs. His extensive work includes training in Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and the development of numerous Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials focused on CSE and other vital sexual and reproductive health topics.


Passion and Advocacy:

Pemphero is fervently passionate about working with young people, particularly in the realms of HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health. He views his career as a mission to champion youth empowerment, with a special emphasis on empowering adolescent girls and young women. His commitment to these causes is reflected in his leadership at FACT Malawi, where he drives initiatives aimed at educating and supporting the youth.


Additional Roles:

Apart from his professional duties, Pemphero is a life coach and a prominent social media influencer. He manages a Facebook page with over 500,000 followers, where he shares personal stories, offers advice, and provides counselling, primarily focusing on sexuality and mental health issues. Additionally, he hosts a talk show on Zodiak TV, where he discusses a variety of topics, including SRHR, HIV and Gender Equality issues, further extending his influence and reach.
