Our HIV Programs Coordinator, Thokozani Jane Kasiya, represented FACT Malawi at the 2025 National Youth Summit, a national platform spotlighting the power of young voices in shaping Malawi's future.
Held under the theme "Harnessing Youth Innovation for Economic Empowerment and Sustainable Job Creation towards Malawi 2063," the summit brings together passionate young changemakers from across the country, united in their commitment to driving progress in health, development, and innovation.
At FACT Malawi, we remain dedicated to empowering youth as key agents of change. Through our work, we continue breaking barriers and building a healthier, self-reliant, and inclusive Malawi.
Brian Chumbi Attends AHC Fellowship
Our Deputy Executive Director, Brian Chumbi Junior, recently took part in the AHC Fellowship organized by Fraycollege of Communications in Johannesburg South Africa.
The fellowship brought together health communication leaders from across Africa to strengthen the use of accurate and impactful messaging in improving health outcomes. As we know, when health information is shared the wrong way, it can put lives at risk, and this fellowship tackled that challenge head-on.
We are proud of Brian for being part of this important engagement and for continuing to champion responsible, life-saving communication.
Madalitso Juwayeyi Joins WomenLift Health Immersion in Kenya
Our Programs Manager, Madalitso Juwayeyi, recently wrapped up an incredible week at the WomenLift Health Immersion in Mombasa, Kenya, as part of the East and Southern Africa Thematic Journey on Family Planning and Contraceptive Access.
At a time when cases of unplanned and child pregnancies continue to rise in Malawi, this kind of leadership training couldn't be more important. Madalitso's participation is part of a growing movement to ensure that leaders working in family planning and SRHR are equipped to respond with bold, strategic, and people-centered solutions.
We believe that empowering women and girls begins with access to information, to services, and to leaders who care.
As always, our FACT Malawi office in Blantyre remains open to all who need access to SRHR services, including family planning.
Thokozani Joins the Global Health Corps
Our HIV Programs Coordinator, Thokozani Jayne Kasiya, was selected for the 2024-2025 Africa Leadership Accelerator cohort with Global Health Corps.
Thokozani is part of a group of 30 health leaders from Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia working to strengthen health systems and lead change across the continent. Since the fellowship started, Thokozani has already traveled to Zambia as part of the program's activities.
Her role in this fellowship reflects the kind of innovative leadership FACT Malawi is proud to nurture.
Madalitso at Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity
Earlier this year, our Programs Manager, Madalitso Juwayeyi, took part in the initial convening of the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
With over seven years of experience in SRHR and HIV advocacy, she has been a strong voice for health equity in Malawi, leading efforts such as the Youth SRHR Center at FACT Malawi.
The Atlantic Fellows program brings together global leaders working to advance health justice and equity in their communities. Madalitso's participation highlighted Malawi's growing movement for youth-centered and rights-based health services.
We continue to be inspired by her dedication and the impact she's making both locally and globally.
FACT Malawi at IAS 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda
Our Communications Officer, Matilda Sapanga, and HIV Programs Coordinator, Thokozani Kasiya, are attending the IAS 2025 Conference in Kigali, Rwanda.

We're proud to have Matilda and Thokozani representing FACT Malawi on this international stage, and we look forward to using the new knowledge they will gain to strengthen our work in HIV prevention, advocacy, and youth-focused programming back home in Malawi.
